Changes to Next Semester’s Syllabus

  • Condense! The syllabus is much too long, contains superfluous fluffy language that students won’t read anyway, and fails to help students understand my expectations.


  • Give students their essay/homework folders on the first or second day of class along with a printed page of instructions for what goes into the folder.
  • Scan student’s drafts (after I have written all my comments on them) so I may better grade the changes they make on the final draft.
